Asteria Population
Asteria Population
Hello,
I am a new player and I have a few concerns about the mud's population? Since I have been on, I have seen at most 3 other people. I've also been on periods of time where i am the only player. Does the population perk up after a certain time period? If there is a time when a larger portion of the population plays, please let me know.

Re: Asteria Population
I'm no longer an active player, but six months ago or so the curve seemed to swing from around six to around a dozen during normal hours. Often, when I find time to log in these days, the MUD is empty.
After Greg's next engine update, I'd expect interest to improve, especially if promotional posts are submitted to various MUD communities. A problem we experienced with the last big engine update was that content started to get stale after level 100, so all of the really dedicated players petered out and lost interest. It doesn't help that there's no effective way for a high level player to adventure with a low level player; the most they can offer is buffs or low-level alts. I believe that the engine update Greg has in progress intends to address those problems, so there's hope a similar downturn might not happen next time around.

Re: Asteria Population
I apologize for the scurrilous slander, Dsiban. I'm sure your ass is still heavily invested.
Re: Asteria Population
Well, how's it coming along? Any news for the interested?
Re: Asteria Population
At the moment no real news. Beta was getting started but got put on hold as Greg and I have both been especially busy with work.
Re: Asteria Population
Alrighty. I saw that Asteria was no longer listed as an online mud at the Grapevine.haus web client and I got a little worried. Thanks for the update!
